Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s mission is to convert the entire Punjab to solar energy and eliminate electricity generated from other sources. Therefore, keeping this mission in mind, the Punjab Government and the Punjab Cabinet have approved a budget of 12 billion rupees for the CM Solar Panel Program.
In the first phase, 50,000 families living across Punjab will receive a free solar system. The government has created some categories to provide free solar and installment solar systems that rely on home power units. Registration Process For Solar Panel Program
The Government of Punjab has introduced a new registration procedure in the Solar Panel Program. The details of these procedures are provided below.
The government has introduced an SMS code to register for the CM solar panel program, through which you can easily register at home. For this, you must send your electricity bill reference number and national identity card number to 8800. After that, you will be registered for the solar panel program, and if you are eligible, the Punjab government will provide the facility of solar panel installation at home. After that, the Government of Punjab will check your verification and documents.

Eligibility Criteria
The Punjab Government has set new eligibility criteria for the Punjab Solar Program. If you want to know what is this eligibility criterion, then their complete details are provided below. - The applicant should reside within the boundaries of Punjab
- You belong to a very poor and privileged class.
- You may not have a better livelihood.
- A house of more than three marlas in the applicant’s name and having a meter installed on it.
- The solar program will not include homes with more than one meter installed.
- Applicants are receiving financial assistance from BISP, Baitul-Mal, or PISP.
- The applicant should not belong to any political organization or banned party.

Punjab Solar System Program Insttalment Details
The Government of Punjab will provide a free solar system from the Punjab Solar Program with the support of the Bank of Punjab. Because you have to pay the first installment to the Bank of Punjab if you are eligible. 85 percent installation will be provided for the solar panel program by the Punjab government. Meanwhile, the remaining 15 percent will have to be paid in installments. This is only for those people whose monthly electricity units are less than 100 units.
